After completing the per-requisites which I mentioned on my last post – scvmm-2012-sp1-installation-guide-part-1 , I moved further with the System Center Virtual Machine Manager 2012 Sp1.
Mount the ISO image for SCVMM 2012 Sp1
Click on Install
Select the features to install
Read the license agreement and accept the terms and conditions.
If you wish, Opt for Customer Experience improvement Program (CEIP)
Configure Microsoft update for SCVMM.
Select the installation path
Enter the SQL Server name, Instance name and DB Name. In my case, I was already having an instance name which was used for the SCVMM 2012 SP1 Beta. On the same instance, I opted for a new DB.
Configure Service account and the DKM location.
Configure the port details. The default ports will be listed out and if you want to make it into custom, you can change it here.
Configure Virtual Machine Manager Library. If you already have one, you can choose it. Else, the same server will be configured as a library server.
Verify the settings and click on Install
Installation will start and you can see the components getting installed
And finally we will get the Completion note.
Go ahead with opening the SCVMM console.
Few errors/warning if you don’t have the prerequisites
