Now we have the basic setup ready. We have the HyperV cluster ready with fabric configured with VM Networks for each subsidiary group. We have the VM templates, Hardware Profiles and Gust OS Profiles ready. In this part, We will go-ahead with creating the Private cloud for each subsidiary group.
Navigate to SCVMM -> VMs and Services -> Clouds
Right click on “Clouds” and select “Create Cloud”
Name the cloud as required.
Select the Host Group which will be used for this Cloud.
Select the “Logical Network” which will be used in this Private Cloud. In the previous part, We already defined the Logical Network for each Subsidiary Group.
Select the appropriate Logical Network accordingly.
Select the storage which will be used for this cloud.
Select the VMM Library.
Set the capacity for this cloud. This include vCPU, RAM, Storage, VMs etc. While a VM is getting deployed for this Cloud, VMM will cross check each of these counters and will only proceed with the creation if the cloud can accommodate the new VM without breaching the configured thresholds.
Select the capability profiles.
Review the configuration and proceed with the cloud creation.
Similarly, Create Private Clouds for S2-IT and S3-IT.
The next par will cover how to delegate the access for the Subsidiary IT Admins for their private cloud.
Stay tuned !
